Our History
Century Insurance, a TanHoldings company, was established in 1988 as an agent for several multi-national insurance companies. Anticipating the growing insurance needs of the region, Century converted from an agency to an insurer in 1990, becoming the first domestic insurer in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands.
Today, Century Insurance is a leading insurer trusted by our customers across Micronesia and the Northern Mariana Islands.

2024 - Century Insurance AM Best Rating upgraded to A-Receives credit rating upgrade from AM Best "A-" (Excellent) Financial Strength Rating and the “a-” (Excellent) Long-Term Issuer Credit Rating
2021 - Tan Holdings divests CIC (PNG) Ltd.
Tan Holdings divests CIC (PNG) Ltd. To focus its attention on Insurance operations in Guam and Saipan effective 09/30/2021
2019 - Aon Micronesia joins the TanHoldings group
Tan Holdings purchases Aon Micronesia and Aon operations in Guam and Saipan become Brokers for Century Insurance now known as AB Risk Solutions . ABI Guam absorbed into ABR

CIC Guam is rated by A. M. Best as B++ (Very Good) with a stable outlook
2011 - CIC Guam receives A.M. Best’s Rating

2008 – Century enters in to Papua New Guinea
Century Insurance (PNG), Ltd. enters as a domestic insurer located at Papua New Guinea’s capital city, Port Moresby.
2006 - CIC Guam is relicensed as a domestic insurer
Century Insurance Co. (Guam), Ltd. is organized and licensed to operate as a domestic insurer in Guam.
2005 - CIC receives a B+ A.M. Best’s Rating
Obtained first rating from A. M. Best; B+ (Good) with a stable outlook
2004 - CIC appoints Aon Insurance Micronesia as General Agent
Aon is appointed as CIC’s General Agent in both CNMI and Guam. Century Insurance has also appointed Pacifica Insurance underwriters as General Agents in CNMI.
2002 - Entry into Guam
CIC is licensed to operate a branch in Guam, a territory of the United States.
1990 - Converted into an underwriting insurance carrier
